WDSS 2026 · The House of Sound · W Barcelona
Creative Direction · Visual Identity · Campaign System
Introduction / Overview
We started with a simple question: Could sound become form?
Created for W Barcelona’s flagship Wet Deck Summer Series music series, The House of Sound explores the relationship between music, space and perception through an architectural visual language inspired by Barcelona’s designation as World Capital of Architecture 2026.
Rather than illustrating music, we became interested in what might happen if one could generate the other: Could frequency become geometry? Could rhythm become architecture? Could something we hear become something we see?
Thinking / Development
01/ Context
WDSS had reached an important stage of maturity.
The ambition was no longer to communicate individual events, but to establish a recognisable creative language for the series. One with enough depth and flexibility to evolve over time.
Barcelona’s designation as World Capital of Architecture 2026 created a natural context for that evolution, connecting the programme to the city’s long relationship with architecture, experimentation and design.
02/ Exploration
The project began with an observation: architecture and music may belong to different disciplines, but both are built through similar principles: order, rhythm, proportion, tension and repetition. They are both systems that shape the human experience. This became the foundation of the work.
Using artificial intelligence as a tool for creative exploration, we began translating sound into architectural forms, testing how frequency, rhythm and movement could inform spatial structures.
Sound became the invisible force shaping each composition.
03/ Design
Alongside these explorations, another question emerged:
What remains once everything non-essential is removed?
In architecture: structure.
In graphic design: the grid.
Both are usually invisible, yet everything depends on them.
The visual system brings these hidden structures to the surface. Light reveals them. Sound activates them. The identity becomes less about decoration and more about the relationships holding everything together.
The same principle shaped the attitude of the campaign:
Less promotion. More presence.
04/ Afterthought
Architecture and music speak the same language.
Architecture shapes space. Music shapes time.
The House of Sound explored what happens when one begins to generate the other.
Frequency became geometry. Rhythm became structure. Sound became architecture.
Not a visual representation of music, but a system built from it.
The campaign wasn’t illustrating music: It was allowing music to generate its own architecture.
Selected outcomes
Campaign manifesto
This season, we build with sound.
Inspired by the invisible structures that shape both music and architecture,
The House of Sound emerges as a space where frequency becomes form.
Here, sound is not just heard: it is materialised.
BPM, rhythm, and vibration translate into lines, grids, and volumes.
An architecture made of energy, held together by an underlying order.
Drawing from the logic of the Aureal Proportion,
The system unfolds with precision and intention.
Light responds to sound.
Sound organises form.
A dialogue between sound, form and space.
Between control and expression.
Between the seen and the unseen.
This is a living structure.
A house built on sound.
Welcome to The House of Sound.
